Mangal Pandey (19 July 1827- 8 April 1857) , whose name is often preceded by ‘Shaheed‘ meaning a martyr in Hindi, was an Indian soldier during the pre-independence era.

Mangal Pandey working under the British East India Company got etched into the pages of the Indian history after he attacked his senior British officers in an incident, which is today remembered as the India‘s First War of Independence ( the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 ).


Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, also known as Pablo Picasso (25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France.



Melvin Ellis Calvin (8th April 1911 – 8 January 1997) was an American biochemist born in St. Paul, Minnesota, of Russian emigrant parents.

Calvin earned a bachelor’s degree in 1931, and then he attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, from which he received a doctorate in 1935 with a dissertation on the electron affinity of halogen atoms.
