International Day of Yoga or commonly and unofficially referred to as ‘Yoga Day‘ , is celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015.

An international day for yoga was declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 11, 2014, almost unanimously.

 

 

The Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is a music festival taking place on June 21, which is usually the summer solstice.

The Fête de la Musique began in France and has since spread to Belgium, Britain, Costa Rica, Israel, China, India, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania and other countries. 

 


 

World Humanist Day is celebrated every year on June 21.

It is an opportunity for humanists and humanist organizations to publicize the positive values of Humanism and to share the global concerns of the Humanist movement, and we’ve been celebrating the day since the 1980s.

On 29th November 2005, the United Nations adopted Resolution A/60/30, that includes the statement, Welcomes the adoption by the International Hydrographic Organization of the World Hydrography Day, to be celebrated annually on 21 June, with the aim of giving suitable publicity to its work at all level and of increasing the coverage of hydrographic information on a global basis, and urges all States to work with that organization to promote safe navigation, especially in the areas of international navigation, ports and where there are vulnerable or protected marine areas.

So it is not surprising that International T-Shirt Day is celebrated on the first day of astronomical summer in the Northern Hemisphere, or the day of the summer solstice (June 21).

 


 

21 June, This day marks the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere, and is the day of the year with the most hours of daylight in the northern hemisphere and the fewest hours of daylight in the southern hemisphere.
